With many schools, businesses, and organizations getting more adept at conducting daily activities online, many may see their workload increasing and dealing with the same pre-pandemic stress. To be able to handle everything on their plate, people must learn how to manage their time wisely, and here's why.
Increases Self Discipline and Motivation: when you stop procrastinating and space out the times when you work, making sure you stay on schedule, you may be more inclined to drive forward and achieve your goals. In addition, this may improve the quality of your work as well, since it is no longer done at the last minute.
More Me-Time: winding down is essential for our mental health. Attaining new hobbies, remembering to eat and drink sufficiently, and getting enough sleep are all vital to how we think and act. Making a schedule for yourself in order to maintain a healthy work-life balance can help you be more productive when needed and keep a positive mindset. Also, good time management can help you not guilty when you are binging Netflix because you would feel as if you deserve that down time — which you do.
Reduces Stress: much of the stress we feel, especially as students, is due to the looming deadlines for all of our assignments. Having good time management skills can help you feel more in control of all the work in front of you and everything you have to do. This, in turn, reduces stress levels, which would be great for your health and prime you better to reach your goals.
Opens Doors to New Opportunities: failing to manage your time well may cause you to fall behind in respect to your peers, who in the meantime, might be reaching their goals or being rewarded for their accomplishments. Having a strict schedule to follow increases productivity, as you know, and helps you stay in time — and maybe even ahead — with all that is happening around you. If you keep rushing through your tasks, you will probably miss some amazing possibilities and new ideas that you could've taken advantage of and learned from.
At the end of the day, getting better at managing your time is a HUGE step toward bettering your mental health. Schedules work, you know, and when you stick with them, you would be surprised at just how fast the days go by!
So remember to make time for everything that you need to do. Especially in quarantine, when no one has the drive to go above and beyond, it is important that you find ways to stay productive and on top of all your work.
Stay safe and healthy everyone!
