During this tumultuous time, loving yourself while others around you are very important to your mental health. Self Love is unconditionally accepting yourself and treating yourself with respect and dignity. There are many ways that you can demonstrate self-love. One example may be to leave a toxic conversation because YOU feel that YOU need some space and positivity. Another instance would be to stay in for the night and treat yourself to your favorite food, watch your favorite show, read your favorite book, and do some self-care.
Here are some examples of what self-love looks like:
- Forgiving yourself
- Spending time with people who love and support you
- Being assertive
- Prioritizing your health and wellbeing
- Not letting others take advantage of you
- Accepting your imperfections
- Setting realistic expectations
