Homeless Mental health Speaker Panel

With 30 attendees, FMHO hosted a panel that featured professional from various fields, such as psychology, nursing, and program management, to discuss how the homeless population in our community struggles with their mental health, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Care Packaging Event
Location: Second Chance Newark
Time: July - September, 2020
​
FMHO held a care packaging event this July, accepting donations of self-care items such as masks and toiletries, to give to homeless populations in their community. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many are struggling to get by, and FMHO hoped to ease some of their pain. The 50 or more packages created were distributed on September 19 to Second Chance Inc in Newark, California.

FMHO released the episode of their podcast on June 13, 2020, focusing on coping with the pandemic and maintaining one's mental well-being.They have gotten professional input from therapists at the Youth Fremont Services, and the episode also includes their personal take on the same questions.

Blaze Pizza Fundraiser

FMHO held a fundraiser in November, 2019 by partnering with Blaze Pizza in Pacific Commons, located in Fremont. People showed their support for our cause by enjoying themselves and having a nice dinner.

Stress Workshop
Location: Fremont Main Library
Time: January 19, 3 to 4:30 pm

FMHO's first stress workshop in 2019 featured Dr. Chien Shien Yang, a board-certified Bay Area physician who has been practicing for 6 years. Attendees were able to listen to our guest speaker and make some great stress balls!

Awareness Presentation
Location: Union City Library
Time: November 16, 4 to 5:30 pm
FMHO's first meeting of 2018 featured guest speaker is Ms. Bennett, an Irvington High School counselor who talked about mental health issues in high school. We provided an overview of what mental health actually is, the stigma associated with it, various mental health issues, and how to identify and help someone who is struggling mentally.
