Because of the recent pandemic, individuals all throughout our communities are suffering from a myriad of malignant burdens due to uncertainty in regards to financial security, physical health, and mental health. Even before the pandemic, some of the most susceptible people to mental illnesses are the homeless, due to the lack of security on a day-to-day basis. Now heightened by an additional stressor, namely the insidious and faceless disease, the homeless are in a terrible position. Now more than ever do, we need to extend whatever help we can.
We plan on creating care packages for the homeless in partnership with HandsOn Bay Area, a local nonprofit dedicated to facilitating volunteering events of all scales. To gather the materials we'll need, we want unify our community and have as many people participating in this project as possible. Almost every one of us probably has some items like soap, toiletries, reusable masks, warm socks, or even an envelope with a stamp that we can spare. The individuals suffering from homelessness would really appreciate these items and it may alleviate a few of their worries. Just take 10 minutes out of your day to gather a few items and drive to the nearest drop off location:
Old Mission Park - 1000 Pine St, Fremont, CA 94539
Lake Elizabeth - 40000 Paseo Padre Pkwy, Fremont, CA 94538
Irvington Community Park - 41885 Blacow Rd, Fremont, CA 94538
During these times, we need to come together as a community to protect one another. If you are able to donate, please fill out the following form to give us a heads up: https://forms.gle/YXy1QoQmCUHVxpf79
